General Purpose

Implementing any sort of labeling system in a facility or workplace promotes visual communication, which is simply communicating pertinent information to a person at the exact point that information is needed.

For example, machinery can be affixed with a series of labels and signs: OSHA-compliant warning labels, RTK labels detailing required personal protective equipment (PPE), a sign explaining operating instructions and maintenance plans. All of this information is presented graphically at the very place the operator most needs it. Further, any wires or cords can be color-coded for maximum organization and safety.

This is visual communication at work, and it is a wonderfully effectual tool for enhancing productivity. Uncertainties about operation and maintenance are eliminated; accidents and injuries are reduced because hazards and warnings are clearly posted; organization is optimized with color-coding and labeling.
